Cora Fiechtner, a Cheyenne resident and mom of two, knows home organization is key to a thriving life. In 2021 she created Simple Harmony, a home organization business. Her passion is to take the daunting task of instilling home organization systems in your home that last.

I met Cora at the end of 2021 thanks to my grandma introducing us. We met at a park and instantly hit it off like we had known each other for years. I am so thankful for people like that – especially when you move to a town where you are creating new friendships. She had just begun her business (like I had) and we were excited to talk to each other about them. She spent months reading, researching, consulting and learning before fully jumping in. She wanted to do something she loved all while creating a healthy work-life balance that allows her flexibility to be a mom too. She is passionate about home organization and wants to help her clients feel the amazing impact a well-organized home can have on your life.
She says the biggest struggle was getting the ball rolling on her business. Cora was dreaming of this business for several years. Once she pushed her fears aside and gained encouragement from those around her she put her plans into motion. When starting something new it helps to be surrounded by people who encourage you to pursue your dreams. It’s easy to talk ourselves out of following our dreams due to the logistics of life. Cora’s husband, Matt, was a huge encouragement to her as she started her business. John at SBDC also helped her take the leap and walked her through every step.

Cora quickly realized that outsourcing is hugely helpful as a small business owner. She is all about balance and knows how important it is to hand off a task to someone better equipped to handle it. She also used Christy Wright’s Business Boutique guidance in order to create a solid business plan. There are a lot of great resources out there to help guide new business owners, but as Cora says, “The likelihood for success is a lot higher when there’s a plan in place.” I couldn’t agree more.
Cora is looking forward to connecting with more people around Cheyenne and expanding her services at Simple Harmony. She recently began offering virtual services and has some exciting projects coming up such as creating a guidebook that will serve families near and far!
